GA Telesis has leased its eighth 737-800SF converted by Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI) as it continues to build its leasing business

Global aviation and aerospace company GA Telesis has leased a Boeing 737-800SF to Auckland-based aviation company Airwork New Zealand.
This is the Fort Lauderdale, Florida-headquartered company’s eighth lease of a 737-800SF that has been converted from passenger to freighter format by Miami-located Aeronautical Engineers Inc. (AEI)
The aircraft was leased through GA Telesis’ LIFT (Leasing, Investments, Finance and Trading) division.
“We are very excited about expanding our relationship with Airwork and adding them to the GA Telesis list of lease customers,” said David Ellis, chief commercial officer of LIFT. “We appreciate Airwork’s well-established reputation and presence in New Zealand and throughout the South Pacific.”
One focus area of LIFT is acquiring passenger aircraft, arranging for them to be converted to freighters and placing them on lease.
GA Telesis has placed orders for 12 737-800SF conversions from AEI in total. Eight units have been delivered so far.
The company placed its first two conversion orders in 2020, another four in April 2021, plus an additional six in October 2021.
The AEI-converted 737-800SF freighter offers a main deck payload of up to 23,904 kg and incorporates eleven full-height 88” x 125” container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH.
Airwork New Zealand carries out airfreight operations, primarily using 737 freighters. The business also offers aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and aircraft leasing and support services.
