Charter broker strengthens Canadian presence with new vice president of cargo as aerospace charter demand holds firm

Charter broker Chapman Freeborn has appointed Tyler Porteous as vice president of cargo - Canada as of last month.
Porteous formerly worked at Canadian cargo airline Cargojet for nearly 14 years, most recently as senior director, global charter sales.
”I am pleased to announce my new role as Vice President of Cargo - Canada at Chapman Freeborn Airchartering. I look forward to the opportunities ahead,” said Porteous in a LinkedIn post.
Porteous began his career at Cargojet in 2012 as a sales & service representative, followed by a promotion to sales manager.
He was later appointed to the role of director of charter sales and business development before taking on the senior director, global charter sales role.
As well as having gained valuable experience in senior management positions within the air cargo charter sector, Porteous is a qualified private aircraft pilot and trained at Spectrum Airways, Flight Training & Career College in Ontario.
In the last quarter of 2025, Chapman Freeborn announced Saska Gerasimova would become the new group chief executive.
Previously senior supply chain manager at Amazon Air Europe, Gerasimova took over from Eric Erbacher, who moved to a new role as chair of the Chapman Freeborn Holdings board of directors.
Gerasimova's extensive aviation experience spans leasing, airfreight, logistics, and fleet management.
Air charter demand for aerospace remained robust in 2025, while e-commerce and automotive demand declined, Chapman Freeborn reported in December.
