Carrier deploys 777F on new Shanghai Pudong-Harbin-Felipe Ángeles route, extending network reach into Latin American markets
China Southern Cargo has launched a new freighter service connecting Shanghai Pudong (PVG), Harbin Taiping (HRB) and Felipe Ángeles International Airport (NLU) in Mexico.
The service expands China Southern Cargo’s global network and supports the airline’s strategy of building out logistics connectivity between China’s major economic hubs and overseas markets.
The new route was launched this month and is operated with a Boeing 777 freighter. Data from Planespotters shows the airline currently has 12 777Fs in its fleet.
China Southern Cargo received its AOC from the Civil Aviation Administration of Central South China in 2021 after being spun off by its parent company, China Southern.
The airline maintains dual cargo hubs at Guangzhou Baiyun International (CAN) and PVG.
In November last year, China Southern Cargo began flying to Arturo Merino Benítez International (SCL) in Santiago, Chile from PVG.
The route has a weekly capacity of nearly 500 metric tons and stops at Los Angeles International (LAX) before continuing to Santiago. The route is currently the longest freighter route from Chinese mainland.
China Southern Cargo commenced operations with a CAN-London Stansted (STN) service in February 2022. It has built a global network of freighter destinations across Asia, Europe, and North America.
