
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has appointed Robert Bartels as vice president of airfreight, west Europe as the company looks to strengthen its airfreight offering.
Bartels has more than 10 years of industry experience and will be based in Amsterdam. Most recently, he served as DB Schenker airfreight branch director for Amsterdam.
In his new role, he is responsible for both operational performance and business development for the airfreight product in west Europe.
Martin Habisreitinger, chief operating officer, airfreight, at Hellmann, said: “Robert Bartels not only brings extensive expertise, but also new impetus to further develop our airfreight business in the region.
"With his experience and leadership skills, he will play a key role in implementing our regional growth strategy by supporting our customers with customised and future-oriented solutions.”
The company added that the appointment reflects its "strategic ambition to strengthen its international airfreight offering while advancing efficiency, sustainability, and customer centricity through expanded digital processes".
