DSV will provide more in-kind flights during humanitarian emergencies as part of a strategic partnership expansion with UNICEF.

One year into a three-year partnership, the enhanced agreement will enable DSV to support UNICEF in delivering essential supplies during emergencies.

Since September 2024, DSV has provided UNICEF with in-kind flights for the delivery of over 85 tonnes of essential supplies for children caught in emergencies in seven countries.

DSV aided the first airlift by UNICEF in response to the emergency in Lebanon in 2024, as well as supported the delivery of 30 tonnes of vital medical equipment and tents to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to support Mpox outbreak response.

Air Cargo News has contacted DSV for more information about airfreight capacity arrangements for these flights.

"We're proud to be contributing to the important work that UNICEF is doing for children in need across the world," said Jens Lund, Group chief executive, DSV.

"Throughout this partnership, we are committed to combining our capabilities, industry expertise and global network with UNICEF's mandate to ensure timely access to essential supplies for children caught in emergencies. Together, we overcome logistical challenges and deliver to even the most remote locations."

UNICEF director of private fundraising and partnerships, Carla Haddad Mardini, added: "Saving and protecting children's lives is a collective endeavour. Hard-won progress has been possible thanks to the generosity of partners to help children survive and thrive.

"Our partnership with DSV has been instrumental in this mission, providing crucial support and resources that enable us to reach children in a timely and effective manner."

DSV last month completed its acquisition of forwarding giant Schenker, a deal that will see it become the world’s largest airfreight forwarder.
