COLD-CHAIN specialist Envirotainer and ULD management company CHEP are to work together in a strategic worldwide alliance.
The deal addresses an increasing need for cold chain transportation of perishables, pharmaceuticals and healthcare products.
At the same time, Envirotainer is to establish four new fully Envirotainer-operated competence centres in Atlanta, Amsterdam, Singapore and Vienna.
The centres strengthen its ability to serve the cold chain market with state-of-the-art air cargo containers.
Under the joint agreement, CHEP will ensure that Envirotainer’s full suite of standard processes for container maintenance, repair and handling are performed consistently all over the world, while also significantly expanding Envirotainer’s ability to expand its active cold chain solutions network in Asia and other key, high growth markets.
“This new partnership is expected to spark innovation and additional process development within the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and ground handling market by leveraging the knowledge and resources of both companies,” says a statement.
“Today’s announcement with CHEP Aerospace Solutions is another solid step in our journey to build on our strong foundation in Active Cold Chain services and to further expand our capabilities. It takes our global service network into a new era,” said Gustaf Ljunggren, CEO of Envirotainer.
