The Challenge Group has expanded its presence in the Indian market with a new freighter flight to Bengaluru.

The service was launched on 4 May and operates once per week using a Boeing 767-300 converted freighter with a capacity of around 50 tons.

According to FlightRadar 24 data, the first flight of the new service started in Tel Aviv and included a stop in Dubai in both the outbound and inbound legs.

Challenge said the new freight is in addition to a three-times-per-week flight to Mumbai that was launched around a year ago.

The services cater for a range of verticals, including pharmaceuticals, high-tech, and temperature-sensitive products.

”The addition of Bangalore further strengthens Challenge Group’s strategic connectivity between India, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. With the addition of Bangalore, Challenge Group continues to build on its robust and growing network,” the airline said in a press release.

It added that from Tel Aviv, it connects with Liege on a daily basis. From both locations, it offers connections to the US.

Or Zak, chief commercial officer of Challenge Group, said: “Given that India is striving to become the factory of the world, and the production of key verticals has significantly increased during the past few years, our strategic decision to now launch a regular and direct India-Middle East-Europe service goes some way towards satisfying the intense customer demand on this route.”
