Air Atlanta will operate Fly Meta's converted Boeing 777-300ERSFs under wet lease to Hungary Airlines, establishing a Budapest-based cargo bridge

Air Atlanta, Fly Meta and Hungary Airlines are teaming up on the operation of two converted Boeing 777-300ERSF freighters.
The tie-up will see the Fly Meta aircraft operated by Air Atlanta and wet leased to the recently launched Hungary Airlines.
The aircraft will be based in Budapest and serve dedicated routes to Mainland China and Hong Kong, creating a “fast, stable, and cost-efficient cargo bridge between Asia and Europe”.
The first aircraft under the agreement is due to be delivered in November, with the second scheduled to join the operation in the first half of 2026.
Air Atlanta and Hong Kong-based Fly Meta have been working together since 2023 on the operation of two Boeing 747-400Fs on regular China–Europe routes.
Fly Meta is leasing a total of four B777-300ERSF aircraft from AerCap.
Hungary Airlines is the national flag carrier of Hungary and obtained its AOC at the end of 2024. It claims to be the only widebody freighter operator in Central and Eastern Europe.
"Air Atlanta is proud to extend its partnership with Fly Meta and welcome Hungary Airlines into this collaboration. With our proven experience in managing widebody freighters in the world’s fast-paced global marketplace, we will ensure the highest operational standards, safety, and efficiency, supporting the growth of this new Central and Eastern European hub,” Air Atlanta chief executive Baldvin Hermannsson said in a statement.
The aircraft have been converted by IAI, which received certification for its programme from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in August.
The first two converted aircraft were also completed for AerCap, which delivered the aircraft to launch operator Kalitta Air in September. The aircraft recently started commercial operation.
The 100 tonne capacity 777-300ERSF, also known as “The Big Twin”, is jointly developed by AerCap and IAI.
