Network Airline Management (NAM) has added a Boeing 747-400 nose-loading production freighter to its fleet as it works towards its goal of operating this type exclusively.
The nose-loading aircraft, formerly in operation with China Airlines Cargo and registered as TF-AKG, was delivered to NAM’s Liege Airport home base last year and entered service on 14 December, according to a 3 February press release from parent company Network Aviation Group.
In addition to this new 747-400F, the NAM fleet currently includes two other 747 nose-loading production freighters and a 747-400BDSF converted freighter aircraft.
However, the company announced last May that it aimed to add two 747-400Fs and retire the converted aircraft to eventually exclusively operate four nose-loading production 747Fs.
NAM said the addition of the new freighter will help it meet air cargo demand, particularly for large and specialised shipments. The company also plans to add further cargo aircraft in the future, although it did not specify whether this ambition is in addition to the fourth nose-loading freighter already planned.
Jonathan Clark, chief executive of Network Aviation Group, said: ”Adding another B747 nose door aircraft to our fleet is a step in the right direction to becoming an all-production freighter fleet.
“This latest addition is an ex-China Airlines Cargo freighter which has already begun delivering world-class cargo services. Renowned for its exceptional range, payload capacity, and reliability, the Boeing 747 is the ultimate workhorse for global air cargo operations.”
Network Aviation Group includes a GSSA division incorporating Network Airline Services, Network Cargo Management and ANA Aviation Services; and freighter division NAM, which manages its fleet of 747Fs on a network of scheduled routes and charter operations worldwide.
