Dubai-headquartered cargo airline SolitAir has launched flights to Beirut and Kuwait and has and signed an agreement for the lease of lease of two Boeing 737-800 freighters.
The Dubai World Central (DWC)-hubbed airline confirmed it had added Beirut in Lebanon, plus Kuwait to its network in LinkedIn posts.
"We’re proud to announce the launch of our inaugural flight to Beirut, strengthening SolitAir’s commitment to providing faster, smarter, and more reliable cargo solutions," said SolitAir.
In a separate post, it confirmed: "SolitAir is now flying direct to Kuwait."
Additionally, the airline reposted a news story from Logistics Gulf News stating that scheduled air cargo services to Bahrain had also been added to its operations.
The expansion of SolitAir comes after it obtained an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in March from the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) General Civil Aviation Authority.
The airline launched routes to Bangalore, India and Erbil, Iraq in January and flights to Riyadh late last year.
In addition to its network expansion, SolitAir has signed an agreement with World Star Aviation for the lease of two Boeing 737-800 freighters.
The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in the coming months, said World Star Aviation in a press release.
“Partnering with World Star Aviation marks an important milestone in SolitAir’s growth journey,” said Hamdi Osman, founder and chief executive of SolitAir. “These additional aircraft will significantly strengthen our operational capacity and enable us to expand our reach across critical trade routes.
"As we scale, our focus remains firmly on providing fast, efficient and reliable cargo solutions that meet the evolving needs of the Global South and beyond.”
Yoram Allalouf, a partner at World Star Aviation, said: “We are proud to support SolitAir in this exciting growth phase. This agreement underscores the confidence placed in SolitAir’s vision and we at WSA are thrilled to continue to develop this partnership.”
According to Planespotters, SolitAir currently has three 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCFs). Two of the 737-800BCFs are being operated by ASL Airlines Ireland. The third aircraft was leased from ASL Aviation Holdings and delivered in March. The website noted that two more 737-800BCFs are due for delivery.
