UK-based aircraft leasing company World Star Aviation has purchased two 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF) from Aergo Capital Limited.

The aircraft, MSN 29786 and MSN 29788, will be added to World Star's portfolio of over 55 freighter aircraft.

The medium-range Boeing 737-800 freighter offers a payload capacity of up to 23 tons and an extended range of 4,830km (2,609 nm).

Garreth Slevin, partner at World Star Aviation, commented: “We are very happy to have concluded this purchase of two  Boeing 737-800BCFs from Aergo Capital. Our respective teams collaborated excellently to close the transaction on a very quick schedule.

"Adding these two BCFs enhances World Star’s ability to meet the evolving needs of the regional cargo market and to provide our airline partners with reliable capacity and operational flexibility.”

Fred Browne, chief executive of Aergo Capital, added: “We are pleased to announce the successful sale of these Boeing 737 aircraft to World Star Aviation. A special thanks to all those who were involved in completing this transaction. We look forward to continuing our relationship with World Star Aviation in the future.”

Earlier this month, World Star Aviation also signed a contract with an unnamed conversion company to convert Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft into freighters.

There are currently three 777-300ER conversion programmes in place with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Kansas Modification Center (KMC) and Mammoth Freighters.

World Star Aviation manages, buys, sells, and leases commercial aircraft for the international aviation industry. It currently has over 55 aircraft in its portfolio.

The company provides an in-house asset and investment management service. This covers aircraft analysis and investment structuring, plus complete lease servicing, aircraft marketing, and technical inspection roles.
