Global K9 and Het Twickelerveld will collaborate on canine operations, X-ray screening, and explosive trace detection services across the Netherlands and Western Europe

US air cargo screening company Global K9 (GK9) has partnered with Netherlands-headquartered cargo screening company Het Twickelerveld Cargo Screening B.V. (Het Twickelerveld) to improve air cargo security in Europe.
GK9, which specialises in cargo screening solutions - including canine detection services - has appointed Het Twickelerveld to support with screening services in the Netherlands as it expands in Europe, following the acquisition of UK-based screening company, Dog Detectives, at the end of 2024.
The agreement will see the screening providers collaborate across not only canine operations, but X-ray, Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), and authorised representative work, to offer tailored, compliant solutions for the air cargo industry, said GK9.
“By combining our proven detection services with Het Twickelerveld’s local expertise, this agreement is aimed at replicating our successful U.S. operations, providing enhanced security solutions across the region,” said Eric Hare, Global K9 founder and chief executive.
“Our goal is to provide the same level of excellence in Europe that our clients have come to expect in the US, building upon our growing global presence.”
Het Twickelerveld, established in 2005, specialises in the training and handling of canines for cargo security.
“Partnering with a well-established screening company such as GK9 allows us to enhance our services in the air cargo sector, bringing mutual benefits to our clients,” said Martin Lipsius, founder and chief executive, Het Twickelerveld.
“We look forward to integrating GK9’s expertise to strengthen our air cargo security operations across the Netherlands and Western Europe.”
