Road feeder services (RFS) specialist Wallenborn has promoted Ram Menon to chief operating officer.

Menon was previously chief commerical officer for the business. During the two years spent in this role, Menon was responsible for the commercial and customer organisations within the Wallenborn Group.

While Menon previously spent five years in transport security and compliance roles for Amazon, he has long been familiar with Wallenborn.

He started his career at the RFS firm in 2013 and spent five years there - first in special products-related roles and latterly as operational key account manager.

Menon said on LinkedIn: "With a successful ACE Munich almost behind us, I am very happy to announce that I have taken over as chief operating officer for the Wallenborn Group.

"It has been a fun journey thus far on the Commercial side, and whilst working in the background for the last six months on the operational side, looking forward to formalising the transition and pushing onwards with this next chapter."

Wallenborn has been working on expansion in recent years and has established its own distribution networks in central and southern Europe, to add to its network in northern Europe.
