Through this initiative, Logiztik Alliance managed to offset approximately 15% of its export emissions from Colombia last year in partnership with LATAM Group

LATAM Group and Logiztik Alliance Colombia together managed to offset more than 570 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) associated with Logiztik’s exports transported via LATAM Group cargo subsidiaries in 2024.
The CO2 offsetting achievement was made possible through the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) under LATAM's Book and Claim or Mass Balance methodologies, and offsets through the “1+1: Offset to Conserve” programme.
In total, 566,89 tons of CO2 were offset through conservation projects in South America, while the remaining portion corresponded to emission reductions achieved via SAF.
Through this initiative, Logiztik Alliance managed to offset approximately 15% of its export emissions from Colombia last year in partnership with LATAM Group.
Cristina Oñate, vice president of sustainability and product at LATAM Cargo Group, said: “Together with Logiztik Alliance, we share the conviction that managing industry emissions requires multiple solutions.
"This collaboration, combining strategic SAF use with high-impact conservation projects, is a concrete example of how, working alongside our clients, we can advance measurable actions toward net-zero emissions by 2050 and promote air logistics that integrate climate change management solutions across South America."
Jaime Muñoz, general manager of Logiztik Alliance Colombia, added: "In a context where the market and international regulations demand greater environmental responsibility, acting with commitment is not only a duty but also a strategic necessity.
"We have always believed in the power of combining efforts. This partnership with LATAM allows us to continue paving the way, demonstrating that efficiency, innovation, and climate action can go hand in hand in every international operation. We invite our clients to join these initiatives to multiply the positive impact.”
The SAF used was produced by Neste MY SAF. This is derived from animal fat and blended with conventional jet fuel, enabling up to a 74% reduction in lifecycle emissions compared to traditional fuels, said LATAM.
The Group added that the offset contribution from LATAM and Logiztik Alliance supported CO2Bio, an internationally certified project under the BioCarbon Standard, recognised for its high environmental and social value in Colombia.
The project focuses on protecting the floodplain savannas in the Colombian Orinoquía region.
LATAM has worked with Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) in the past on various SAF initiatives and in May signed an MoU with the forwarder to advance sustainability initiatives and innovations.
