Santiago, Chile-headquartered LATAM Group will offer four weekly freighter flights between Brussels, Belgium and Buenos Aires, Argentina from October
LATAM Cargo Group and its subsidiaries will expand cargo operation between Europe and Argentina with an increase in freighter frequencies on the Brussels, Belgium–Buenos Aires route.
From October, the Santiago, Chile-headquartered Group will offer four weekly freighter flights, doubling its current capacity. With the new operations, the company expects to transport between 80 and 100 tons of cargo weekly.
LATAM said the decision is in response to sustained growth in demand and the strategic role Argentina plays in international trade, particularly for high-value sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automotive, and consolidated general cargo.
Until now, part of this flow relied on indirect connections, but LATAM said the increased frequencies provide a more direct, reliable, and flexible alternative for its customers.
Earlier this month, LATAM said it would commence weekly freighter flights between Brussels and southeastern Brazil’s São José dos Campos from 2 October, doubling the frequency once the winter season starts.
Speaking about the increased Brussels-Buenos Aires frequencies, Matías Cortina, commercial director for Cargo Europe at LATAM Airlines Group, said: “With this growth, LATAM Cargo consolidates itself as one of the few operators offering frequent, direct cargo flights between Europe and Buenos Aires, delivering a competitive and reliable value proposition for sensitive shipments such as pharmaceutical products."
LATAM'S recent flight investments between Europe, Argentina and Brazil is part of the group’s expansion plan on the Europe–South America axis, which includes a previously announced increase to 15 weekly frequencies in both directions, consolidating LATAM Cargo’s position as a strategic partner in the development of international trade.
