Georgian cargo airline Geosky Airlines has begun flying from Tbilisi, Georgia, to Chongqing, China, to continue its international expansion.

The first flight on the new route from Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG) took place this month, confirmed Geosky in a recent LinkedIn post.

"On 13 September , the first cargo inaugural flight on the Tbilisi-Chongqing route was successfully completed," said the Tbilisi-based cargo airline, charter and ACMI provider.

"This flight marks yet another significant step in the company’s ongoing expansion across international markets."

Flights on the route will operate on a fixed-charter basis for COSCO Shipping Airfreight, Geosky confirmed to Air Cargo News.

The first flight was operated with a 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) registered as 4L-GEL, according to data provided by Flightradar24.

The airline's current fleet consists of six converted freighters, including one Boeing 747-200, one Boeing 757, and four Boeing 767-300s, Geosky said.

The most recent addition to its fleet is a 767-300 leased from Airborne Capital and delivered in July.

The airline is focusing on building up widebody capacity to support its regional and international operations spanning Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia.

In January, CN Logistics launched regular international charter flights between Ezhou Huahu Airport in China and Milan Malpensa International Airport in Italy. The first flight was carried out with a 767P2F operated by GeoSky.
