The Middle Eastern carrier is increasing frequencies across its network, with London gaining two additional daily flights and Bangkok rising to 45 weekly services
Qatar Airways Cargo is looking to benefit from changes to the carrier’s passenger network for the winter season.
The cargo business said that one of the biggest changes would be the addition of two extra daily flights to London, bringing its total flights per day to the UK capital city to 10. This is in addition to nine freighter flights each week, offering 900 tonnes of capacity in each direction.
Elsewhere in the UK, weekly flights to Manchester will be increased from 21 to 24.
For African destinations, weekly flight numbers to Casablanca will increase to seven from four, Cape Town will increase to 12 from 10, Johannesburg will increase by four flights per week to 18 and a daily widebody service to Zanzibar will start on 26 October.
Johannesburg also benefits from three freighter flights per week with 300 tonnes of capacity each way.
Moving onto Asia, weekly flights to Tokyo Narita will increase from 11 to 14, Phuket will increase from three daily flights to four and Bangkok is up to 45 weekly flights from 42 starting 13 December and running to 16 February.
To Bangkok, the airline has one freighter flight each week with 100 tonnes of capacity each way.
Meanwhile, to the Americas, weekly flights to São Paulo will increase from 14 to 18, and Toronto will jump to seven weekly flights from five.
The carrier also offers four freighter flights per week to São Paulo, totalling 400 tonnes of capacity each way per week.
Mark Drusch, chief officer cargo at Qatar Airways Cargo, said: ”We are continuously refining our capacity and operations to meet dynamic market demands, especially as we head into the peak season. These frequency increases reflect our commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance cargo solutions across the globe.”
The announcement of changes to the passenger network is the second development at the airline in recent weeks.
Earlier in September, Qatar Cargo and Chinese e-commerce logistics giant Cainiao launched an expanded agreement to accelerate cross-border e-commerce delivery.
The alliance will see Cainiao more than double its weekly charter flights on key China–Europe routes to create a broader schedule.
