In news from the transport logistic trade fair being held in Munich this week (together with Air Cargo Europe, between June 2 and 5), Saudi Arabia-based logistics and supply chain services provider SAL Saudi Logistics Services has signed a partnership agreement with Global Critical Logistics (GCL), the parent company of Rock-it Cargo, DIETL and CARS and a specialist in providing logistics support for live events and luxury goods logistics.

According to SAL, the deal represents “a key milestone in SAL’s continuous efforts to expand its specialised logistics services within Saudi Arabia and across international markets, with a focus on promising sectors such as entertainment, the automotive industry, film and sports”.

This partnership is intended to combine the value of SAL’s cargo handling capabilities and local reach with GCL’s global expertise in handling high-priority, time-sensitive shipments.

Omar Hariri, SAL chief executive, commented: “This agreement reflects our commitment to providing advanced logistics solutions that meet the demands of high-growth sectors.

“Our partnership with GCL represents an ambitious strategic step toward building a more sophisticated and integrated logistics ecosystem in the kingdom while gaining expertise in managing logistics solutions for global events such as the World Cup and automotive exhibitions – aimed at supporting sustainable growth and keeping pace with the evolving needs of the sector both locally and internationally.”

GCL’s president and chief executive, Daniel Rosenthal, said that the partnership with SAL “exemplifies the power of combining global expertise with regional capabilities to bring more iconic moments and precious assets to new corners of the world”.

He continued: “As demand for live entertainment and the transport of high value goods increases across Saudi Arabia and beyond, our shared mission is to deliver fast, reliable and innovative logistics services for every shipment is more important than ever.”

Cargo iQ

Just last month (May), Air Cargo News reported that SAL had become a full member of air cargo industry quality standards group Cargo iQ.

“Transparency and innovation are at the core of our logistics transformation,” said Mohammed Shahahmad, IT director of business applications at SAL.

“By focusing on process improvements and leveraging digital tools, we are creating more reliable, efficient, and customer-centric solutions.”
