Ground handler begins operations at Brussels under a seven-year licence, supporting 15 weekly turns across LATAM's Europe-Latin America network

Menzies Aviation has launched operations in Belgium through a freighter aircraft ramp handling deal with LATAM Cargo at Brussels Airport.
The company was awarded a seven-year ramp handling license for full-freighter aircraft back in March, with the new license starting in late October.
Operations were then launched through a deal to handle LATAM Cargo’s aircraft at the Belgian hub.
The contract covers 15 weekly turns across three daily flights, five days a week, connecting Belgium with the carrier’s expanding network between Europe and Latin America.
The aviation services company said: ”Brussels Airport is recognised as a critical European gateway for freighter operations, supporting significant freighter traffic across pharmaceutical, perishables, and high-value logistics corridors.
“With this new licence, Menzies aims to elevate standards in aircraft turnaround management, streamline ground handling processes, and deliver safe, reliable, and consistent performance for airline customers operating dedicated freighter services at the airport.”
Executive vice president for Europe Miguel Gomez Sjunnesson said: “The award of this license highlights the strength of our freighter handling expertise, and launching operations with LATAM’s expanding freighter schedule at BRU sets a strong foundation for the years ahead.”
LATAM Cargo increased its transatlantic freighter operations from 12 to 15 weekly frequencies - a 25% increase - with the addition of a new service between Brazil and Belgium at the end of October.
The new flight operates three times per week between Sao Paulo and Brussels, with a stop in Recife, using one of its Boeing 767 freighters.
