Hong Kong Air Cargo has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Turkish Cargo to explore how to further collaborate in air cargo operations through aligned commercial strategies and joint operational initiatives.
The MoU, signed on 22 April, outlines how the airlines can further collaborate in the air cargo business, including by focusing on codeshare arrangements, freighter aircraft cooperation and expanded connectivity across key global routes, said Hong Kong Air Cargo in a press release on 6 May.
Tony Ma, chairman of Hong Kong Air Cargo, commented: “This partnership with Turkish Cargo represents a strategic alignment of two dynamic cargo carriers with complementary strengths.
“By combining our operational expertise and network reach, we aim to deliver more efficient and customer-focused cargo solutions across the globe.”
Ali Türk, chief cargo officer of Turkish Airlines, added: “Hong Kong is a key logistics hub in Asia, and our collaboration with Hong Kong Air Cargo underscores our commitment to expanding our presence in the region.
“Together, we will explore innovative models of cooperation that unlock new commercial opportunities and elevate service offerings for our customers.”
Hong Kong Air Cargo has been steadily expanding its global network to capitalise on e-commerce. The latest addition to its network is Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) in Scotland.
Turkish Cargo aims to increase its number of cargo destinations to 150 and cargo aircraft to 44 by 2033.
