Industry veteran Ajay Barolia aims to expand Swissport's footprint through joint ventures and strategic acquisitions while investing in gateway modernisation and automation

Swissport has appointed Ajay Barolia as executive vice president cargo for North America to focus on modernisation, sustainability and growth.
Barolia joined Swissport last year as senior vice president cargo North America and has more than three decades of industry expertise.
Swissport said Barolia is recognised for his expertise in global cargo standards, hands-on operational management, and commitment to innovation.
He brings to the role extensive experience in optimising logistics, championing digital transformation, and elevating quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Barolia will report directly to chief executive Nelson Camacho. Supported on the commercial side by Peter Weir, senior vice president, commercial – cargo NOAM, Barolia will also lead a regional team of four vice presidents overseeing the East, West, Express, and Canada.
Covering sales, operations, and QHSE functions, the team is expected to support Swissport in providing customised solutions.
