Finnair is to re-start flights to Toronto, Canada, on 4 May next year, having last flown to the city in summer 2015.
The new connection will be served three times a week next summer, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays.
Christine Rovelli, Finnair’s chief revenue officer, said that Finland’s flag-carrier was “excited” to grow its North American network and bring Canada back as a destination.
Toronto is Canada’s biggest city and Canada’s commercial and financial hub.
Just a couple of days ago (8 June), Air Cargo News reported that Finnair had reached a tentative labour agreement with its pilots after 10 months of negotiations, although the carrier also confirmed that it would be affected by industrial action by airport staff later this month.
The agreement was reached on 8 June and will cover three years, with the last year optional.
The tentative deal required approval by both parties’ administrators.
