The carrier’s new TK Aero service comprises two operational tiers—TK Aero Spare for components and TK Aero Advanced for high-value items
Turkish Cargo has introduced a new logistics product aimed at supporting the transportation of sensitive and time-critical components within the aviation industry.
The TK Aero service is divided into two tiers — TK Aero Spare and TK Aero Advanced — and is designed to address varying operational needs, including routine spare parts shipments and complex engine transport.
TK Aero Spare covers the movement of aircraft components such as avionics, landing gear, and structural parts. The service applies no weight or size restrictions and includes expedited handling and priority loading.
TK Aero Advanced is intended for larger, sensitive items like aircraft engines and helicopter components.
The service involves a more technical approach, including pre-transport engineering assessments and the creation of bespoke loading plans.
According to Turkish Cargo, certified aircraft loadmasters oversee each operation on site to make sure operations adhere to handling procedures and use specialised equipment when necessary.
Shipments are managed through a digital platform, TKGO, allowing customers to submit requests and pre-book transport. The system is designed to streamline planning and communication.
The new product is also integrated with TK Urgent, the carrier’s existing solution for time-sensitive shipments, including AOG (Aircraft on Ground) scenarios. In these cases, shipments are prioritised for capacity and routing through Turkish Cargo’s hub at Istanbul Airport.
Speaking about the launch, Ali Türk, chief cargo officer at Turkish Airlines, said the service aims to support operational continuity in the aviation sector through a combination of engineering support, digital tools, and specialist teams.
The introduction of TK Aero comes as the carrier focuses on industry-specific logistics products amid growing demand for reliable solutions in aerospace supply chains.
Last year, for instance, the carrier added three service levels to its pharma product offering.
The carrier also added three new overall shipment service levels in 2022.
