Facility features next-generation auto-sorter technology and expanded dock capacity as the company targets resilient transcontinental network growth

Last-mile parcel delivery network, SpeedX, has opened a new e-commerce and freight "superhub" close to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).
The company, which last year acquired freight forwarder Accelerated Global Solutions (AGS), said the new 200,000 sq ft facility enhances its network processing capacity and plays a central role in supporting its current ability to deliver 1m parcels per day across the US.
SpeedX's new hub features a next-generation auto-sorter with expansive chute capacity, enabling processing speeds of up to 30,000 parcels per hour and 500,000 shipments daily during peak season.
The facility also offers expanded dock doors and floor space to accommodate both parcel and freight shipments.
“Chicago is both a prime global air gateway and one of the most important hubs for US e-commerce and freight," said Chris Zheng, founder and chief executive of SpeedX.
"By investing here, we’re strengthening our operational control and enhancing the efficiency of our network. This superhub is also central to our strategy of connecting SpeedX facilities nationwide through transcontinental linehaul, creating a more resilient and scalable delivery network for the future."
The investment represents a major milestone in SpeedX’s US growth strategy and joins more than 50 new facilities launched by the company in the past year.
E-commerce sales have doubled in the US in the past five years. The US e-commerce industry is expected to reach an estimated $1.3trn in 2025 and is projected to grow to $1.84trn by 2029.
