Aviation firm Air One International has taken delivery of another Boeing 777 freighter that will be operated by the group's airline affiliate One Air.

The aircraft will be operated by One Air out of its East Midlands Airport (EMA) base on a scheduled service to Hong Kong after arriving in the UK on 19 November from Boeing’s Everett production line in the US.

The company took delivery of another 777 freighter in August, which is also operated by One Air.

"The addition of a second 777F reinforces Air One’s commitment to operational reliability and service consistency across its Asia–Europe network, complementing its established managed fleet of 11 Boeing 747 Freighters," the company said.

Peter Scholten, Air One's chief commercial officer, said: “The Boeing 777 Freighter is an outstanding cargo aircraft. Taking delivery of a second 777F strengthens our ability to deliver consistent, high-quality services on key Asia–Europe trade lanes.

"It also reflects our focus on operational reliability and long-term commitment to developing a modern, efficient fleet capable of meeting our customers’ growing air cargo requirements."

Air One launched scheduled operations between the UK and Hong Kong in September. The service marked an expansion beyond solely charter operations for the company.

The four-times-weekly service is aimed at time-sensitive cargo such as e-commerce and electronics.

Chris Hope, chief operating officer at One Air, added: “This delivery showcases the readiness and capability of our technical and flight operations teams to support our fleet and network expansion. The 777F continues to prove itself as a highly reliable and efficient aircraft, well-suited to our customers’ evolving requirements.”
