Kales Airline Services claims to have become the first GSSA to achieve IATA CEIV Pharma Certification.

The company gained the certification, which demonstrates compliance with IATA’s pharma standards, at its locations in Italy, Belgium and Switzerland.

Sebastiaan Scholte, chief executive of Kales Airline Services, said: “This is an important milestone as the first GSSA ever to certify for CEIV Pharma. Pharmaceutical shipments are increasing, and it is important not only to have the certification but also the knowledge and the right mindset to handle these shipments properly.

“We are proud to lead the way in raising the standards for GSSAs globally.”

Brendan Sullivan, head of cargo for IATA, added: “[Kale’s] achievement is a notable step that reflects the growing recognition of quality across all parts of the air cargo supply chain.”

The CEIV Pharma programme is designed to ensure that the transport and handling of pharmaceutical products meet the international standards for quality, safety, compliance, and efficiency.

“As the demand for pharmaceutical air freight continues to grow, Kales’ achievement underscores its forward-looking approach and its readiness to support the increasingly stringent needs of pharmaceutical logistics on a global scale,” the company added.
