Wilson Kwong will step down from the Hong Kong cargo handler after leading sustainability initiatives and automation investments

Hong Kong cargo handler Hactl has confirmed that chief executive Wilson Kwong will leave the company in January.
Kwong, who has been chief executive for the past eight years, will leave to take up a role at public transport and property firm MTR Corporation.
Hactl said that a successor would be announced in due course.
“This was a very difficult decision for me, after eight wonderful years leading the world’s definitive air cargo ground handler; but I feel the time is right to take up a new challenge outside the air cargo arena, and to make way for a new leader to stamp their own mark on this iconic business,” said Kwong.
“I am proud to be leaving Hactl in the best possible shape, a team which is dedicated, hard-working and simply the best in the business. I would like to thank them all for the parts they play every day in this company’s sustained success.
”Until my departure, my team and I will continue to work together to deliver the service excellence for which Hactl has become renowned.”
During his time at Hactl, Kwong has led the development of several sustainability initiatives and has taken pride in staff retention levels.
There have also been investments in automation and digitalisation as the company has looked to develop in a fast-changing air cargo market.
Recently, Kwong was in London as Hactl won the Cargo Handler of the Year Award at the Air Cargo News Awards.
