Air charter tech firm Aerios has added a new Artificial Intelligence module that it hopes will create efficiencies by automating responses to charter requests.

Aerios’ Automation and AI module extracts operational data from charter requests across various formats and changes it into "structured data to enable repeatable workflows”.

The tech firm explained that carriers generally receive more than 90% of market requests via email, with packing list details contained within attachments.

Processing these requests requires manual data re-entry, pricing of multiple routing permutations and producing several quotes per request.

This can result in delays and increases the risk of errors.

"The system can automatically generate routing options based on the carrier’s own network, together with positioning and tech stop requirements,” the company claimed in a press release.

"It can handle multi-airport requests with multiple origin or destination airports and generate each quotation in seconds. Cargo data is also captured by digitising packing lists that can then support pricing, loadability assessments, and downstream operations.”

Aerios claimed that the module could reduce quotation times by up to 80%. This is an increase on the 66% reduction that Aerios has achieved with existing carrier customers before the introduction of its AI module.

“The module also uses historical quoting data and machine learning to suggest routing options based on similar past requests, including aircraft positioning and technical stops,” the company said. ”This allows newer or junior team members to quote faster, while supporting greater quoting consistency across larger, decentralised teams.”

Founder and chief executive of Aerios, Simon Watson, said: ”The introduction of the Automation & AI module for carriers solves an obvious issue the market encounters on a daily basis. It digitises request data within the Aerios environment that will be leveraged within our upcoming modules.”
