Platform's extractCS tool automatically populates request data from forwarder communications, cutting processing to sub-minute timescales

CharterSync has deployed new artifical intelligence (AI) technology to improve the efficiency, accurancy and speed of handling business from freight forwarders.
The cargo charter portal has launched its extractCS feature, which uses large language models to extract key details from freight forwarder communications and automatically populate CharterSync’s request process.
Manually analysing large volumes of data in multiple formats can be both time consuming and error prone, but CharterSync said extractCS is designed to reduce processing speeds to less than 1 minute, lower the risk of errors and accelerate response times.
The module enables freight forwarders to transfer their request-for-quote (RFQ) details directly into the CharterSync platform and upload packing lists in Excel or PDF format.
CharterSync’s AI automatically extracts and populates its platform with essential data, including airport origin and destination, cargo dimensions and payloads, as well as critical special instructions such as temperature requirements, UN numbers and class numbers.
Beyond efficiency gains, extractCS enables CharterSync’s account management team to focus more time on delivering expertise and strategic guidance.
CharterSync said the launch of extractCS represents the beginning of a broader AI development strategy that will see the company introduce additional AI-driven features in the future.
The company said in June last year that it would invest in developing its AI and machine learning capabilities, but did not elaborate at that time.
“Our vision goes beyond digitisation, we’re building an AI-powered platform that fundamentally changes how air cargo charters are booked and managed,” said Ed Gillett, founder of CharterSync.
He added: “extractCS is the first visible step in a wider strategy. We’re investing heavily in AI to create smarter, faster and more resilient chartering solutions that will set a new benchmark for the industry.” This deployment is the first in a series of AI-led innovations in active development.
"By embedding AI into its platform, CharterSync is positioning itself to lead the air logistics sector through a period of rapid change, where just-in-time delivery, resilient supply chains and data-driven decision-making are critical."
