Worldwide Flight Services and Saudia Cargo have made a significant step in the air cargo industry’s move towards IATA’s ONE Record initiative through a collaboration with airfreight IT solution provider CHAMP Cargosystems.

The joint project establishes a practical ONE Record use case, demonstrating how the initiative enhances air cargo transparency and

real-time visibility for all stakeholders and accelerating ONE Record adoption, CHAMP said.

WFS chief executive EMEAA John Batten added: “This is another important digitalisation initiative for WFS, and we welcome the opportunity to be part of a user case that will not only benefit WFS and our customers but also send a positive signal to the industry for the wider adoption of digital solutions. There are many advantages to be gained from embracing new technologies, but the most significant steps forward come from this kind of collaboration, led by IATA and embraced by leading technology, airline, and handling companies. ONE Record has an important role to play in the future of our industry.”

CHAMP’s 1Neo-Connect service facilitates the integration with ONE Record by enabling standardised shipment data exchange between the carrier and handler, who will benefit from enhanced data accuracy and instant booking updates, significantly improving shipment visibility.

This real-time data flow enables improved planning and operational efficiency while fostering greater agility and proactive decision-making through immediate access to precise shipment status details.

Chris McDermott, chief executive of CHAMP said: “By leveraging the standardised data exchange ONE Record offers, we are enhancing operational agility and delivering greater value to our customers through our plug-and-play service 1Neo-Connect.”

Eng. Hesham Alhussayen, vice president corporate services at Saudia Cargo, said: “Our collaboration with CHAMP on the adoption of IATA’s ONE Record initiative is a testament to our ongoing Digital Transformation roadmap. We see the initiative as a catalyst for innovation, enabling greater efficiency, transparency, and a more responsive, high-quality service for our customers.”

1Neo-Connect was designed for seamless ONE Record transition. CHAMP has created standalone sandbox and pilot environments to allow its customers to trial ONE Record services before going live.
