The forwarder's charter network adds seven Latin American destinations to its Shanghai-Chicago route, creating tri-continental connectivity

DSV’s “Shanghai Star” airfreight charter route now offers connectivity from Shanghai Pudong International (PVG) in China to multiple destinations across Latin America via Chicago Rockford International (RFD) in the US.
Shanghai Star, part of the DSV air charter network, launched in May as a transpacific service charter route connecting midwestern US industries to Shanghai, China and Incheon, South Korea.
Following DSV's recently established partnership with RFD, the Shanghai Star now offers customers weekly scheduled capacity from PVG to RFD, which serves as a strategic gateway to Latin America.
This route provides access to key industrial and consumer markets in North, Central, and South America, said DSV. Destinations include Bogota, Buenos Aires, Guadalajara, Manaus, Mexico City, Santiago and Sao Paulo, with other destinations in Latin America by request.
"Adding a third continent to Shanghai Star is a strategic expansion that positions us to better serve our customers' global supply chains across Asia, North America, and Latin America," said Stephanie Penarete, vice president, air product of DSV Air & Sea US.
The DSV Air Charter Network is designed to provide flexibility and guaranteed capacity for high-value air cargo, while reducing transit times compared to traditional cargo lanes.
Stefan Krikken, DSV vice president, airfreight, recently told TIACA Air Cargo Forum delegates that DSV expected a slower than usual peak season but remained positive for 2026 as the airfreight industry benefits from supply chain shifts.
