Dutch airport taps former Turkish Airlines Cargo and DSV executive to lead operations amid 15% cargo volume growth in first seven months

Maastricht Airport (MST) has appointed Cor de Man as chief executive to replace Jan Eerkens.
De Man has held several roles in cargo in the past, having previously held executive and board positions at Turkish Airlines Cargo, UTi Worldwide/DSV and Broekman Logistics.
"Cor de Man is an experienced executive with a strong commercial profile and in-depth knowledge of both passenger and cargo operations,” said Frans Weekers, chair of the supervisory board of Holding B.V. Luchthaven Maastricht.
"Cor will work closely with the management team to further strengthen operational performance, drive sustainable growth, and position MST as an environmentally conscious regional airport with international significance for both passengers and cargo.”
De Man, said he hoped to continue the recent cargo growth trend experienced at the airport.
“The coming years are crucial for the further development of Maastricht Aachen Airport - the foundation has been laid, cargo is showing an upward trend, and the team is focused on the right priorities,” he said.
“Together with the team, I am eager to take the next steps - Maastricht Aachen Airport has great potential for both passengers and cargo, and I look forward to working with employees, shareholders, and partners to build a future-proof, financially healthy, and sustainably operating airport.”
De Man succeeds Jan Eerkens, who has served as MST’s interim chief executive since 1 November 2025. Eerkens will remain involved on an advisory basis through Schiphol Group to support the transition to the new management.
The airport has won a spate of freighter flights in recent years.
The Dutch airport saw its cargo volumes increase by 15% year on year in the first seven months of 2025 driven by a series of Atlas Air charter flights, the addition of Ethiopian Cargo and the return of Turkish Cargo.
In October, Columbian airline Avianca Cargo has added two weekly freighter flights to Maastricht Aachen Airport to cater for flower volumes.
