Cathay Pacific has appointed Anand Yedery as its new regional head of cargo for Europe following the previous post-holder’s move to a new role.

Yedery has more than 20 years of experience with Cathay and has worked in both the passenger and cargo business “across diverse markets".

He began his career with Cathay in 2004 in the customer services department at Mumbai International Airport, before transitioning to the commercial team in 2007, where he led passenger sales for southern India from Chennai.

The airline said that in 2010, he returned to Mumbai to head passenger sales for western India before moving to cargo in 2014 when he was appointed regional cargo manager for South Asia, Middle East, and Africa where he oversaw "Cathay Cargo’s business and operations across a wide and complex region".

Since 2018, Anand has been responsible for passenger sales, marketing, and lifestyle for the same region, based in Mumbai.

"Yedery’s deep understanding of regional dynamics, combined with his operational and commercial expertise, positions him well to lead Cathay Cargo’s growth and strategy in Europe," the airline said in a press release.

Yedery added: “Cargo is a vital part of Cathay’s global offering, and Europe is one of our most important cargo markets. I’m honoured to take on this role and to lead our cargo operations across Europe at such a pivotal time for the industry.

"I look forward to building strong partnerships with our customers and strengthening Cathay Cargo’s presence across the region.”

Meanwhile, Jansen Stafford, who previously held the role, will return to Cathay’s headquarters in Hong Kong to take up the role of head of strategic projects for cargo.
