Regional general manager for Southeast Asia Dominic Perret will take over cargo leadership role as Tom Owen transitions to corporate development position at HAECO

Cathay Cargo has reconfirmed that Dominic Perret, formerly regional general manager for Southeast Asia, will succeed Tom Owen as director of cargo.
The cargo division of Cathay Pacific announced in July that Owen would be stepping down from his position at a later point in the year and that Perrett would step into the role.
Cathay Cargo has not confirmed Perrett's exact start date. The business stated in a LinkedIn post on 22 October: "With over 10 years of senior leadership experience at Cathay, Dominic’s strong track record of leading cross-cultural teams positions him well to drive positive change and deliver commercial, operational, and customer service excellence, , as Cathay Cargo continues its journey to becoming the world’s best cargo carrier."
The company added: "We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Tom for his dedicated service over the past five years. His leadership has been instrumental in bringing the Cathay Cargo team to greater heights and achieving significant milestones that have shaped our success. Thank you Tom!"
Perrett has been working for Cathay since 2000, bar a brief stint at Swire Pacific Offshore, which was formerly owned by Swire Pacific, part of Swire Group, which has a majority shareholding in Cathay.
Perrett has been regional general manager Southeast Asia since August 2021. Before that, he was general manager of customer care.
Other roles at the airline have included general manager aircrew, flight operations and general manager inflight services.
After five years of leading Hong Kong Airport-based Cathay Cargo, Owen will become group director of corporate development at aircraft engineering and maintenance firm Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO), part of the Swire Group.
Earlier this month, Cathay Pacific announced it had appointed Anand Yedery as its new regional head of cargo for Europe, while in September, long-term Swire Shipping employee Toby Griffiths was named as Cathay Cargo's new head of cargo global sales and customer solutions.
