CargoAi has launched an AI assistant to handle common customer queries to help reduce the number of emails being sent and speed up the booking process.

The air cargo tech firm said that its CargoCoPilot Agent tool works across WhatsApp, email, airline websites and its own CargoMART third-party booking portal.

The tool is available to select airlines, GSAs, and forwarders today and will be progressively rolled out to more users.

It handles requests such as real-time AWB-based tracking, rate & capacity search, automated booking, operational detail requests, shipment status and shipment delivery questions.

CargoAi chief executive Matt Petot said: "AI must feel natural, trustworthy, and useful from day one. With CargoCoPilot Agent, a forwarder can simply ask ‘Show me rates to JFK’ or “Where is my shipment?” — and the Agent does the rest.

“CargoAi is not experimenting with AI — we are deploying it live, at scale, and with measurable business value. With these new developments, we are targeting to automate not less than 50% of email interactions received by our industry, making room for higher valued tasks.”

CargoAi said the tool is white label ready and customisable, and is also compatible with IATA's ONE Record data sharing platform.

“This launch represents a major milestone in our journey to make air cargo operations autonomous, intuitive, and connected," added Petot. "It reduces workload, improves response times, and adapts continuously to changing operational flows."

CargoAi added that it would continuously expand the tool's use cases and domain understanding, integrate with additional systems as required, and broaden the range of inquiries it can handle autonomously.

The new tool launch is the second major development from CargoAi this year. In April, the tech provider announced the launch of interline bookings on its CargoMart third-party booking portal following a test project with Emirates SkyCargo.

The interline tool digitalises and automates interline capacity checks and e-bookings, rather than using emails and phone calls.
