Virgin Atlantic Cargo has continued to expand its digital presence by placing its capacity on a third online booking portal.
The UK airline today announced that it had partnered with CargoAi to allow the latter's 23,000 freight forwarder users to access its cargo capacity.
The carrier’s capacity will be available on CargoAi across key markets including the UAE, Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, the UK, the US, Ireland, India, the Netherlands and South Africa.
The launch phase includes general cargo services supporting shipments of up to 5,000 kg, with pharma and perishables products to follow in the near future.
Nick Diesel, managing director, cargo, Virgin Atlantic Cargo, said: “As we continue to expand our digital capabilities, partnering with CargoAi gives our customers even greater choice in how they access and book our services.
”The logistics landscape is evolving rapidly, and it’s important that we deliver flexible, intuitive solutions that meet customer needs today and into the future.
“Through this partnership, Virgin Atlantic Cargo enhances its digital network and marketplace presence, while customers gain the benefits of broader connectivity and faster, more intuitive access to capacity worldwide and CargoAi’s airline portfolio.”
CargoAi chief executive Matthieu Petot added: “Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s integration on CargoAi is another strong milestone in our mission to connect airlines and forwarders through seamless digital solutions.”
The airline added that alongside the partnership, it had also strengthened its contact centre resources to "further improve response times".
The move isn't the first time the airline has placed its capacity on a booking portal. In February 2024, Virgin announced a partnership with WebCargo, while in 2023 it placed its capacity on cargo.one.
