All Nippon Airways (ANA) has selected ECS Group-owned Skylog Turkiye as its GSA for its first direct flights between Japan and Turkey.
The new service will launch on 12 February and will operate three-times per week between Tokyo Haneda and Istanbul utilising Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
The flights will offer around 10 tonnes in each direction, or 60 tonnes over the course of the week.
The airline’s main transport commodities will be fish and other seafood products, a significant volume of automotive parts, and general cargo.
ANA is hoping it will be able to use the service to connect with other destinations and origins.
Kenichi Wakiya, executive vice president of ANA, said: “Just as we are committed to providing seamless connections for our passengers, we seek to offer the same for our cargo customers.
”Together, we will also open sought-after cargo connections to the Middle East, Europe and Africa, which are all best served by Istanbul’s impressive global hub and Haneda.”
”ANA is launching its first direct Turkey - Japan connection and we are greatly honoured to offer our GSA expertise from the very start. Skylog Turkiye shares ANA’s philosophy that the new value of air cargo logistics goes beyond mere transportation,” said Jean Ceccaldi, chief executive, ECS Group.
