The former APAC regional president takes charge of carrier's transformational strategies and centralised planning function

FedEx has appointed Kawal Preet, formerly regional president of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, as executive vice president (EVP), planning, engineering and transformation.
Preet began her new role on 1 October and is responsible for the DRIVE framework and initiatives, which FedEx said are essential for the successful execution of its transformational strategies.
She will also oversee a global centralised planning and engineering function that will be focused on network integration, a key component of the company’s transformation.
Having served as the regional president of APAC since 2020, Preet has led the region to new opportunities while navigating multiple unique and unprecedented circumstances, including those associated with the pandemic and a dynamic global operating environment, stressed FedEx.
Throughout her 28-year career spanning operations, planning, and engineering roles, she has successfully led various teams.
As well as her new role as EVP planning, engineering and transformation, Preet has joined the FedEx executive committee. She reports to FedEx president and chief executive Raj Subramaniam.
“With her institutional knowledge and industry expertise, Kawal’s leadership in this new role will enable a holistic approach to our DRIVE transformation efforts that are creating long-term value for our customers, team members, and stockholders,” said Subramaniam.
“Her collaborative, thoughtful approach and commitment to excellence will further our progress toward a global integrated network as she leads a centralised planning and engineering team.”
A successor for the regional president of APAC position will be named at a future date, said FedEx.
Federal Express (FedEx) retained the top spot in the list of the top 25 cargo airlines for 2024, based on IATA's World Air Transport Statistics (WATS) report.
