Azul chooses Globe Air Cargo Argentina as its GSSA

Brazilian airline Azul has appointed Globe Air Cargo (GAC) Argentina, an ECS Group subsidiary, as its general sales and services agent (GSSA) in Argentina.

GAC Argentina plans to expand the cargo activities of Brazil’s third-largest airline in Argentina, including opening up destinations that are currently passenger-only.
Azul has signed a two-year GSSA contract with GAC Argentina, which is marketing the airline’s cargo capacity on flights departing from Buenos Aires (EZE), and in the future will do so from Cordoba (COR) and Rosario (ROS).

From Buenos Aires, GAC Argentina now markets several Brazilian destinations, including Belo Horizonte (CNF), which is served by two flights a day, and Campinas (VCP), with one flight a day, as well as destinations in the US (Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO)) and in Europe (Lisbon (LIS) and soon Porto (OPO)).

In partnership with a French airline, Paris (ORY) is also among the daily cargo links sold by the GSSA.

Azul operates a fleet of A320 and EM190 and EM195 passenger aircraft on flights from Argentina, in addition to its A330, B737, ATR and soon to enter the fleet B767 aircraft on flights from Brazil.

Alejandro Doldi, managing director at GAC Argentina, said: “We are extremely proud to have been chosen as GSSA by Azul Linhas Aéreas. We have full confidence in this airline and in the opportunities for rapid development in the Argentinian market. Increased trade between Argentina and Brazil will also contribute to Azul’s growth in this market.”
