CarePod and OnAsset partner on pet transport

Pet travel container firm CarePod has partnered with OnAsset Intelligence for the tracking of pets as they are transported via air cargo.

The partnership will see CarePod’s pet containers equipped with OnAsset’s tracking devices to allow location information to be transmitted during transport.

The two companies said that airlines will be able to monitor and and supervise the entire pet travel process through CarePod’s Pet Aviation Web Solution (PAWS).

The CarePod PAWS platform can also connect pet owners to their pet’s travel journey and notify owners of their pet’s travel updates.

“I am proud that OnAsset’s products can be used by CarePod to deliver a comprehensive, first class pet travel solution,” said Adam Crossno, OnAsset Intelligence chief executive.

“Pets are family and we’ve worked closely with the CarePod team to help ensure the reliability of our devices.”

Today’s announcement follows CarePod’s recent entry with Delta Air Lines in the US market, with domestic services for pet travel available at eight locations within the US.

The deal with Delta was originally announced in late 2018, but the airline only went live with the pods in November 2019.
