DSV adds B747F US-Brazil flights for ‘red hot’ market

DSV is continuing to expand its airfreight operation with a new flight from the US to Brazil on the back of rising demand.
The forwarder has teamed up with Atlas Air to offer a B747-400 freighter flight from Miami International (MIA) to Sao Paolo VCP under a 12-month agreement.
The service is not part of its recently-launched Globetrotter operation and will supplement its Brazillian Wings charter operation, which flies four-times-per-week from Miami to Sao Paolo VCP.
The move strengthens the Denmark-headquartered forwarder’s presence in the country with South America’s largest economy – it also offers a transatlantic flight between VCP and Liege as part of the Globetrotter offering.
Mads Ravn, vice president, air and sea, DSV, said: “We are adding a new Americas one-way route from Miami (MIA) to Sao Paolo (VCP) to the DSV Charter Network to accommodate the red-hot market in South America and to bring as much flexibility into our air cargo offerings as we can in these tight capacity markets.
“We are experiencing a high level of demand for our existing air charter route, the Brazilian Wings, so the strategic rationale for us behind the addition is obvious.”
DSV launched its Globetrotter operation in September and recently added a call at Shanghai PVG after Covid-related congestion issues at the Chinese airport eased.
