Freight forwarder Geodis has obtained CEIV Pharma certification for its site at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport a year after the facility was opened.

Geodis said the certification testified “to its excellence in the handling and air transport of pharmaceutical products”.

The facility, which has direct access to the runways, is located in cargo zone 4 of the airport and extends over 6,000 sq m, including two cold rooms (2-8 and 15-25 degrees Celsius) for handling temperature-controlled products.

Massimo Norcaro, chief executive of Geodis’ freight forwarding business in France, said: “CEIV certification is a guarantee of quality, confirming our expertise and our ability to handle the air transport of pharmaceutical products to their final destination, whether in France or round the world.”

IATA said that CEIV Pharma is a globally consistent and recognised pharmaceutical product handling certification.

“By establishing a common baseline from existing regulations and standards, this certification ensures international and national compliance to safeguard product integrity while addressing specific air cargo needs,” IATA explained.
