WFS makes two appointments in the US

Globally active handler Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has announced two appointments of senior executives in the Americas market.

Mike Duffy and Mike Simpson have been named as executive vice president innovation and executive vice president Americas respectively.

Duffy will take up his new role in April, Simpson on March 1.

They will both report to Craig Smyth, chief executive of WFS.

Duffy has considerable cargo and ground handling experience. He is to look into new ways of working, identifying and sharing best practice from across the business, as well as taking advantage of new technologies.

Duffy will work across all WFS regions and functions with the objective of using innovation to “make the business better”.

Simpson has spent the last three years as chief financial officer Americas for WFS.

Smyth commented: “Driving innovation across our global business is one of our strategic priorities and in Mike Duffy we have the perfect person in our leadership team to bring great knowledge and inspiration to this role.

“This also creates the opportunity to give Mike Simpson a very well-earned promotion to lead our growing Americas operations to the next level.”
