Singapore airfreight down in January

Changi Airport

Singapore’s Changi Airport saw airfreight throughput decline for the second month in a row, with January’s volumes falling 2.4% to 171,000 tonnes.

January’s decline follows a fall of 3.8% in December 2018 to 182,000 tonnes, versus the same month in 2017.

In full year 2018, Changi saw airfreight throughput increase by 1.4% to reach 2.15m tonnes.

As at February 2018, more than 100 airlines operate at Changi, connecting Singapore to some 400 cities in about 100 countries and territories worldwide.
