Volga-Dnepr marks the passing of Ron King

Ron King

Former Volga-Dnepr stalwart and US air cargo veteran Ron King passed away on  July 19 at the age of 76.

The airline said that King had “left an immense imprint on the air cargo sector in the US in general and on Volga-Dnepr’s development in particular”.

“With almost 50-years’ experience in logistics, Ron King has contributed to successful implementation of various transport projects, being eager to share his professionalism, extensive experience in logistics and in-depth market knowledge,” Volga-Dnepr said.

King held multiple executive positions in Curtis Air Services, Transamerica Airlines, and World Airways.

He joined Volga-Dnepr in 2001 as a commercial director in the US and spent the next 14 years building the image of Volga-Dnepr in the US, “gaining new projects, attracting new customers, strengthening Volga-Dnepr’s market position and sharing his tremendous knowledge with colleagues”.

“During his time with Volga-Dnepr, not only has he reinforced the company’s position, but has also been a tutor to the whole team members who engrossed his knowledge, experience and personal approach to business development. Ron King will be sadly missed as he was a true personality who possessed the unique knowledge of airfreight.  His contribution will always be highly appreciated,” said Konstantin Vekshin, executive president of charter cargo Operation at Volga-Dnepr.

“Our sincere condolences go to his family, closest friends and colleagues.”
