21 Air seeks a long term wet lease with a Canadian cargo carrier

US-based freighter operator 21 Air has applied for a long-term wet lease with an unnamed Canadian all-cargo carrier.

North Carolina-headquartered 21 Air has applied for a Canadian Foreign Air Operator Certificate which will allow scheduled and non-scheduled international all-cargo services between the US-Canada and beyond.

The airline is seeking a statement of authorisation from the US Department of Transportation for the wet-lease agreement.

In August this year, 21 Air entered into a long-term ACMI contractual arrangement with Aeromexico Cargo, to utilise a fleet of Boeing 767-200 Extended Range Special Freighters, to operate flights for the Mexican carrier which will connect Los Angeles with Mexico City, Guadalajara and Central American points.
