BIFA to launch Anglia Young Forwarder Network regional group

The British International Freight Association (BIFA) is planning to add another regional group to its Young Forwarder Network, which it launched earlier this year.

The new Anglia regional group will be launched next week (November 13) at Ipswich Town Football Club.

At the launch, guest speakers from Operation Pandora – a European-wide police/customs operation – will be giving presentations about combating organised crime in shipping and forwarding.

Representatives from the Border Force, Counter Terrorism Police, HMRC and the National Crime Agency will also share their knowledge on the topic.

Attendees of the event will be provided with more details about the Young Forwarder Network and given an opportunity to discuss how they would like their regional group to be operated.

Other Young Forwarder Network regional groups that have already been established are located in: the Midlands, the North West, London East and London West.

Carl Hobbis, BIFA’s training development manager, explained: “We have had a good response to the launch of the Young Forwarder Network and have already held several well-attended events that are assisting in the development of future freight forwarding ambassadors and leaders for the sector.

“By creating several regional networking groups, run by young forwarders, the Network aims to help early talent and young BIFA members develop their knowledge and professional skills, but in a more social environment.”
