AirAsia expands cargo network with Lufthansa interline deal

Teleport, AirAsia’s cargo and logistics platform, has signed a direct interline agreement with Lufthansa Cargo to help expand its network offering.
Through the interline agreement, Teleport customers will gain access to Lufthansa Cargo space on Lufthansa flights.
This long-term partnership aims to open up more than 300 destinations in 100 countries for Teleport customers and AirAsia’s network of over 150 destinations in Asia Pacific for Lufthansa Cargo customers, the partners said in a statement.
Teleport CEO Pete Chareonwongsak said: “This partnership provides global reach and market access for customers across Asean and Europe and will spur the growth of trade and e-commerce fulfillment in key production and consumer markets. We look forward to working with Lufthansa Cargo to synergise our efforts in growing this strategic partnership.”
Lufthansa Cargo Asia Pacific vice president J Florian Pfaff, added: “We are very happy to continue with our long standing cooperation with Teleport, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AirAsia Group. This interline partnership will provide our customers with a stable and reliable shipping solutions to the Lufthansa worldwide network.
“We are confident that this partnership will strengthen our market presence in markets where Lufthansa are currently not serving.”
Teleport, until recently branded as RedCargo Logistics, said that it is looking to build direct partnerships with other airlines to “enable seamless movement of cargo and e-commerce globally”.
