UPS reaches deal with pilots

The Independent Pilots Association (IPA) has reached tentative agreement with UPS Airlines on a new two-year contract extension.

The short term agreement provides for improvements in compensation and retirement but specific details of the agreement will not be disclosed before the union presents it to all UPS pilots.

IPA president Captain Robert Travis said this would happen within the next month and that the union would make “an unqualified recommendation for ratification”. The deal had been unanimously approved and endorsed by the five-pilot IPA Executive Board, he added.

The contract must be ratified by a majority of UPS’s pilots, with voting completed on 31 March. If ratified, the new agreement will extend the IPA’s contract with the express logistics carrier to 1 September 2023.

Kentucky-headquartered IPA represents over 2,900 pilots who fly for UPS.
