Pilot Freight Service appoints non-executive chair

Logistics provider Pilot Freight Services (Pilot) has appointed Jerome Lorrain as non-executive chair, as well as a member of the company board.

Lorrain, who replaces former non-executive chair Don DeFosset, has more than 20 years’ of experience in supply chains, logistics and transportation.

DeFosset will remain a member of the board of directors.

Lorrain’s previous roles throughout his career included chief executive, North America, at CEVA Logistics; chief operating officer of freight management, also at CEVA Logistics; and chief executive of Wallenborn Transports.

At CEVA, Lorrain led a $2.5bn revenue business and directed more than 13,000 professionals, as well as overseeing air, ocean and ground freight operations. At Wallenborn, he led a strategic transformation of the company, expanded operations and boosted revenues.

Prior to Wallenborn, Lorrain worked at Kuehne+Nagel in a variety of roles, including: manager of contract logistics in Luxembourg; general manager of contract logistics in India; and managing director of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
